Some Things To Remember:
This is a place for civil and polite discussion of topics that can sometimes get emotional.
Try to treat others as you think they would like to be treated.
The admin reserves the right to delete any post.
When a post qualifies for deletion, the admin is going to stop reading the thread and simply delete the post and its thread. This means that some posts will get deleted without the admin reading them. The Abuse Database is sometimes used to catalog posts that qualify for deletion.
Please do not start discussions about the rules - e-mail the admin if you have questions about the rules or want to report someone who is breaking the rules. Thanks!

Basic Rules:
1. Treat posters with respect. No stalking. No spamming.
2. Please do not post more than 2 threads in a row. Give others a chance.
3. This board is not a political flame board. Partisan attacks will be deleted. Excessive political posting will be deleted. However, posts concerned with the ethics of politics are encouraged.
4. Do not use proxies to post on this board. This applies to everyone.
5. The TOS of the provider are in force on this board. Do not violate the TOS.
6. Please refrain from obscenities in the subject lines of posts and in personal handles.
7. Do not piss off the Admin. The Admin is the only arbiter on this board, and if you piss him off, you'll end up banned.

What Is A DNR?
A DNR is a "Do Not Respond" request. To initiate such a request, please post a new thread with the subject line as follows (put no text in the message):

Subject: ADMIN/Bob - Do Not Respond Request

(this would be appropriate if you did not want Bob to bother you anymore)

Such requests take effect immediately upon the request being posted. If you want to talk about the situation with the other party in a DNR, do it elsewhere.

DNR Rules:
1. DNRs are not to be used to avoid legitimate debate. They are to be used to avoid harassment and to put an end to personal attacks.
2. No parting shots. If you're going to request a DNR, resist the temptation to get in one final shot before doing so. It is extremely bad form, and the Admin may refuse to allow the DNR in such circumstances. Just make the request, no parting shots.
3. If you have a DNR, and both parties agree to remove it, the Admin will not eager to reinstate it later. No yo-yo DNRs.
4. If you are part of a DNR, you may not post to or about the other party. You may not respond to their posts. No oblique references. Don't try to be cute about it, don't try to walk a fine line. Respect the rule.
5. If you are part of a DNR, you are not restricted from responding to points raised by the other party, but you must do so without making a reference to that other party and without directly responding to their posts.
